At Everest Health, our commitment to quality and precision ensures that medical professionals can depend on our products for consistent performance and reliability.
A hemostat clamp functions as a quick manual tool to control or stop blood flow in the dialysis tubing, helping nurses safely manage the extra corporeal blood circuit during treatment adjustments or emergencies. The main uses include the following:
1. Temporary Blood Flow Occlusion:
The clamp can be placed on dialysis bloodline tubing to temporarily stop blood flow. This may be necessary when:
2. Emergency Flow Control
If there is air detected in the line, a leak, or equipment malfunction, clinicians can quickly clamp the tubing to immediately stop blood circulation outside the body.
3. Assisting with Line Priming and Setup
During machine preparation, hemostats may be used to hold or secure tubing segments closed while the dialysis circuit is being primed with saline.
4. Preventing Back flow or Spillage
Clamping helps prevent blood or fluid from flowing backward or spilling when tubing is disconnected or re-positioned.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:
Trusted by leading dialysis and blood collection centers, Everest clamps deliver dependable, precise occlusion of flexible medical tubing. Built for consistent performance, their lightweight, durable construction enhances ergonomics and efficiency across clinical and manufacturing settings.
Cleaning and Disinfection
Everest clamps are easy to clean using warm water and detergent and are compatible with sonic cleaning. To help maintain appearance and performance, avoid harsh chemicals such as bleach, which may cause discoloration of plastic components and erosion of the aluminum rivet. Always follow your facility’s established cleaning protocols.
Sterilization and Re-use
After cleaning or disinfection, Everest clamps may be sterilized. Everest Health maintains validation data supporting steam autoclave and ethylene oxide (EtO) sterilization. Clamps may be reused up to four times. Clamp strength should be evaluated after each use to ensure reliable performance.
Use Conditions and Warranty
Everest clamps are designed for safe, effective occlusion of flexible medical tubing, including PVC and silicone rubber, at temperatures above freezing. Everest Health warrants new clamps against defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty does not apply to reused clamps. Refer to the Directions for Use (DFU) for complete details.
